CENT BY :USER LOWER COLO REG' '; 2 -21 -92 ; 9:46 ; AUMIN15fRV `N Or C-► 8U15318705;;22
Depending upon direction of the Steering Committee, advisory
oommittees could be formed to provide specific direction on the
following three areas:
1) water management and legal issues,
2) dito specific and local community issues, and
3) scientific and technical issues.
Task 2 Cost $9S,700
Task 2 - River modeling studies. This task would address the
question of how additional water produced by cloud seeding would
affect the Basin. over 8 years have passed since the last
studies were conducted. The hydrological conditions in the
Colorado River basin have varied significantly since that time,
and the potential benefits of additional water supplies need to
be evaluated in light of the current conditions and operating
criteria. This task would involve employing Reclamation's
Colorado River Simulation System model to determine how and where
additional streamflow would affect the Basin, including an
analysis of salinity impacts.
Task 2 Cost $31, 600
Task 3 - Environmental compliance. Cloud seeding, involves
modifying clouds to produce additional precipitation, and will
require a National Environmental Policy Act compliance document
prior to initiation of any seeding. in addition, environmental
monitoring will be required throughout the duration of the
program; This task will identify the actions /activities required
to meet these requirements.
Task 3 Cost $26t700
Task 4 - Report prep4ration. This task will result in a final
report in the form of ac recommended Program Plan. This plan will
provide the reader with a clear description of the activities,
time, and monies required to validate, quantify, and transfer
cloud seeding technology within the Basin.
Task 4 cost $20,000
20
