r� <br />C. Lt. Col James B. Lampert, CE, reported on the first Tech- <br />nical Conference, ` °'which was held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, 9. 10, and 11 <br />August 1950. Details may be found in the minutes which have been dis- <br />tributed separately,. <br />d. Mr. Daniel Kennedy later reported on the activities of the <br />Mapping Subcommittee, of which he is chairman. The report is included <br />as Appendix C to these minutes. The committee acted on the following <br />recommendations <br />of the Mapping Subcommittee. <br />(1) <br />That the Subcommittee continue in existence until <br />its assignment is compd.etedo Approved with the under- <br />standing that the Subcommittee will be dissolved by <br />later action of the Intel - Agency Committee._ <br />(2) <br />That a central office be established or designated to <br />assist the Subcommittee in carrying out its work. Ap- <br />proved with the understanding that the Geological <br />Survey would assume the function and establish such <br />an office in Tulsa, Oklahoma. <br />(3) <br />That an orderly expansion of existing mapping pro- <br />grams should take place, with the highest priority <br />being given to the completion of mapping essential <br />to this study in the three -basin area. Approved. <br />(4) <br />That the Inter-Agency Committee take cognizance of <br />the need for an orderly program of surveys and of the <br />needs for the establishment of relative priorities <br />for this work. Approved. <br />(5) <br />That problems relating to maps and surveys be re- <br />ferred to the Mapping Subcommittee for recommendation. <br />Approved with the understanding that decisions on <br />policy matters would rest with the Inter - Agency <br />Committee. <br />5. An information pamphlet and a questionnaire which are to be <br />used in conjunction with the joint public hearings were discussed. <br />After modification, these two items were approved for issue. They arr <br />attached as Appendices D and E. <br />b. The Chairman referred to a pamphlet published by the Federal <br />Inter-Agency River Basin Committee on "Proposed Practices for Economic <br />Analysis of River Basin Projects." It contains an analysis of the <br />systems now used by the Federal agencies represented on that Committee <br />and proposed a uniform method. It is currently being considered by <br />the FIARBC with a view to possible adoption. The Chairman asked that <br />the members study the pamphlet,.cons? der the desirability of utilizing <br />the proposed method in the Arkansas -White -Red study, and be prepared to <br />discuss it at the October meeting. <br />3 <br />
