The hearing <br />fill be conducted jointly by representatives of the War Departi;ient and <br />the Departr:.ent of A"riculture to further the studies of the two Departr;.erlts <br />in connection eaith preparation of their respective preli i=ary reports. <br />3. At the public hearing it is desired to obtai;r,: (1) A -record of <br />past floods of da iaF,inf maE nitude, the areas affected, and the amount of <br />damages; (2) a record of existing protection works and their effect on <br />controlling; floods; (3) the nature of protective measures proposed by <br />local interests for flood control and allied purposes; anki data <br />relative to run -off an(-) waterflo'.i retardation an6:. soil erosion prevention. <br />4. All interested, parties are invitsd to be .present, or to be repre- <br />sented, at the above time and place, particularly flood - control interests . <br />and the officials of any Federal, state, or local organization whose in- <br />terests may be affected by the construction of any proposed Work- They <br />will be given an opportunity to express their vieas ',aith reference to mea- <br />sures for flood control and soil conservation and to present information <br />relative to past floods. Oral statements dill be heard, but for accuracy of <br />record all important facts and arguments should be submitted in writing. <br />Written statements rmy be presented at the hearin or mailed to the under- <br />signed beforehand. <br />/sf I�VT. lei.
