SUBJECT: Water Efficiency Grant Fund Recommendation for the City of Evans
Recommendation:
The OWCDP staff recommends that Tom Browning,Assistant Director, approve a Water
Efficiency Grant for a Drought Management Plan in the amount of$44,026, for the City of
Evans.
Summary of Grant Application
The Office of Water Conservation& Drought Planning (OWCDP)received a Water Efficiency
Grant application from the City of Evans requesting $44,026 to develop a Drought Management
Plan.
The City of Evans is committed to implementing effective drought management strategies as a
result of the Plan's development. In case of a drought situation, the City anticipates that through
implementation of the Drought Management Plan, total water use will be lowered by 10-15% in
addition to the 13% savings goals outlined in their 2009 Water Conservation Plan.
The total cost of the project is $62,854. The City is committing 30%matching funds in the form
of in-kind services and $2,000 cash. The OWCDP staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant
application and has determined that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for
reviewing grant proposals. Attached is the internal checklist used to evaluate the application.
