Inventory each public water system and identify those which <br /> are susceptible to drought impact - low streamflows, insuf- <br /> ficient reservoir storage, or inadequate groundwater. <br /> b. Work with the communities with susceptible systems to make <br /> improvements. Identify the communities which are able but <br /> refuse to make improvements. <br /> c. Provide assistance in making applications for grants or <br /> financing. <br /> d. Conduct a study or arrange to have one conducted which would <br /> investigate the feasibility and costs of interconnecting the <br /> many front range water utilities. <br /> e. Develop contingency plans for providing emergency water services <br /> to communities which incur system failure due to equipment or <br /> supply problems. <br /> 4. Agricultural industry <br /> a. Develop contingency plans for providing emergency water <br /> services to stockmen. <br /> b. Make crop damage estimates <br /> c. Advise applicants for assistance under various drought impact <br /> relief programs. <br /> d. Make loss projections - soil , livestock, crops. <br /> e. Monitor grazing conditions, meet with BLM and Forest Service <br /> to assure reasonable access to public lands. <br /> f. Meet with industry representatives and determine industry needs. <br /> 5. Fire prevention <br /> a. Inventory reaction capabilities in each region. Determine <br /> where reactions could be strengthened through acquisition <br /> of equipment, cooperative agreements, or participation in <br /> the insurance program. <br /> b. Develop contingency plans for major emergencies. <br /> c, Assure the system for provi'ding fire danger warnings to the <br /> public is operational and effective, <br /> d. Make sure the system for requesting Governor's action is in <br /> place and the participants know their roles. <br />
