The Company anticipates continued difficulty in <br />releasing water from the reservoir in 2003 because of the ongoing drought and expected <br />low storage levels. Therefore, construction of the new channel will be in two phases to <br />partially mitigate those difficulties. The two phases are illustrated on Figure 5, in <br />Appendix D. The east side of the channel will be excavated by late summer to provide <br />an interim capability for releasing water from the reservoir down to the dead storage <br />Lake Meredith Res.
