constructing, maintaining and operating such reservoir and gathering and storing water therein <br />and conducting the same either to the places where such water is to be used, or conducting the <br />same to the Arkansas River, or to other canals, for exchange of water, in manner as is or may be <br />by law provided; to acquire title to or an easement or right of way over and upon the lands <br />surrounding and on which said reservoir, ditches and other fixtures, appliances and improvements <br />are or may be located; to acquire an interest in or easement over or right of way through the <br />headgates and canal of The Twin Lakes tend and Water Company commonly known as the <br />"Colorado Canal" or "Bob Creek Canal ", and the lateral or branch irrigating ditches from the said <br />Colorado or Bob Creek Canal, and also similar interests, easements and rights of way in, over and <br />through other ditches, canals and laterals or branch irrigating ditches therefrom; also to acquire <br />rights of way over and to acquire, construct maintain and operate other ditches and laterals from <br />time to time as the Board of Directors of the Company may determine upon; to conduct water <br />from said Lake Meredith reservoir into and through the headgates and canal of the Company <br />hereinafter described, connecting such reservoir with the Arkansas River, a natural stream of the <br />State of Colorado, and also to connect its said canal from said reservoir with other irrigation <br />canals; to deliver stored water to other ditches entitled to water or into said public stream, the <br />Arkansas River, to supply appropriations from said stream, and to take in exchange therefor from <br />said the Arkansas River, either at the headgate of said Colorado Canal or at some other point <br />higher up than the point or delivery of said stored water, an equal amount of water, less a <br />reasonable deduction for loss, it any there be, to be determined by the State Engineer, or <br />otherwise, as may be provided by law, and, in general, to exchange water in any manner that is or <br />hereafter may be authorized, permitted or provided by law; to construct, own, maintain and use, <br />in manner as provided by law, measuring flumes or weirs and self - registering devices and all <br />other devices and appliances that may be required, authorized or permitted by law, or that may be <br />Lake Meredith Res.
