Those waters are used for irrigation in the Uncompahgre Valley. The <br />UVWUA provides irrigation supplies to nearly 80,000 acres of farm land from south of <br />Montrose to Delta, Colorado. Main crops include corn, wheat, and hay. Numerous small <br />vegetable farms grow produce for local distribution. <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />The District proposes to tap into the existing outlet works to install a new bifurcation that will <br />direct flow to a powerhouse located immediately east of the existing gate house. The <br />powerhouse will contain two Francis-type turbines and generators, rated at a combined total of 7 <br />
