3. Assignment of the easement for the water storage in Knoth Reservoir to the
CWCB.
IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE
The following schedule is proposed for implementation of the project based on the two phases as
outlined above.
Task
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
7.
8.
9.
Feasibility Study Completed
Submit to CWCB
Loan From CWCB Finalized
Start Design
Finish Design
Review By SEO Completed
Project Bid
Award Bid
Start Construction
Complete Construction
Tar eg t Completion Date
2/24/03
3/26/03
6/1/03
6/15/03
11/1/03
5/1/04
5/15/04
6/1/04
7/15/04
11/15/04
SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND PHYSICAL IMPACTS
The project will have some social impacts as the facility is expected to be utilized for recreational
opportunities for a land development project that is expected adjacent to the reservoir. No other
significant social impacts are expected.
The project will have a positive economic impact by assisting the SIDC to more efficiently provide
irrigation water to over 8,500 acres of irrigated farm land.
The project will have no significant physical unpacts except in the immediate vicinity of the
construction. These impacts will be minor in nature and will affect an area of less than 35 acres.
PERMITTING
The SIDC and the Engineer believe no Environmental Assessment (EA) or Environmental Impact
Statement (EIS) will be required. The Corps of Engineers will be contacted concerning 404
permitting but anticipate the work falling under the Nation Wide Permits which will not require
formal permitting.
INSTITUTIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
No institutional considerations exist other than the proposed loan from the CWCB.
' Knoth Reservoir-Feasibility Study
,
Page 13
