As you know, <br />Phase 1 was the installation of the by-pass system; Phase 2 was re-coating of the 56" penstock. <br />These were completed by the 4th quarter of 2009. Phase 3, replacement of the discharge valves, <br />was completed in the 4`" quarter of 2010 (Substantially complete Nov. 16 2010). <br />2009 was used to procure the correct engineering and material requirements from the Bureau of <br />Reclamation. Don Read was assigned as the architect/engineer from the Bureau to design, <br />inspect and approve the project. Mr. Read and the District agreed to replace the existing <br />butterfly valves with Jet-flow Gates. Mr. Read then did all of the engineering and designing for <br />the valves and drew up the blue prints. At the end of 2009 the district began seeking bids for the <br />work. <br />On May 3`d of 2010, the Conejos Water Conservancy District entered into contract with Prime <br />Machine Inc. of Salt Lake City, Utah for the construction and installation of the new valves. <br />Prime Machine Inc. also was responsible for � �;��,� � _x � <br />the removal and disposal of the old Butterfly ��� �'� `� �_ ,� �. ` ��� ' � � ��'' � � <br />� . <br />gates. The District paid $21,000 upon ��.u� -, �� � � �� ,�;..'�� � <br />execution of the contract.
