The cannons were activated on only 1 occasion in response to storm events. This
compares with 4 activations in 2009, 13 activations in 2008, 23 activations in 2007, 19 activations in 2006 and 7 activations
in 2005. The period of operation for the cannons was 45 minutes.
During the 93 days of the permit period for 2010 rain was received somewhere on the ranch on 26 of those days compared
to 23 days in 2008. The average rainfall per day of occurrence was .07 inches. Hail occurred on only 1 day during the 2010
permit period compared with 2 days during the 2009 permit period and 10 days with hail in 2008. The average rainfall on
the ranch during the permit period was 1.70 inches compared with 2.73 inches in 2009 and 4.31 inches in 2008.
As no hail pads were collected this season, we spent somewhat less in time and expense on compilation and reporting of the
rainfall, hail and storm information during the season. However, it should be noted that Amy Kunugi has continued to
submit this on a very frequent basis to your office and to Nolan Doesken throughout the season as a part of our participation
in the data collection project.
Enclosed is the annual fee in the amount of $688.84 along with a statement of our operating expenses.
Please contact me with any questions or comments you may have.
Very truly,
Michael D.
