6. Finished Water Storage
7. Distribution System
At the direction of the Council, studies of Item I and Item 7 were
omitted from this report. Some mention of these items may appear in the
report where they have a direct bearing on other studies but no extensive
investigation has been made into these sections of the over -all water facility.
All other items have been studied and shall be discussed in detail in
the following pages of this report. All records kept by the City with refer-
ence to the Water Department have been analyzed and, where applicable, have
been condensed for tabulation in this report. The capacity of each element in
the water system has been determined, both with regard to flow capacity and
the equivalent population which that flow can serve.
We would like to take this opportunity to compliment the Water Department
personnel on the clarity of their water production records. It is one of the
most complete and easily read set of records we have ever examined.
Recommendations are made in this report concerning the type, extent, and
time of all improvements deemed necessary to keep pace with the increasing
population. A cost estimate has been prepared and presented for each phase of
the recommended improvements.
PAST AND PRESENT POPULATION
The United States Bureau of Census shows the following V population figures
for the City of Loveland:
- 2 -
