with steel trash racks and stop -log guides, 54 -inch round concrete conduit,
founded on a concrete bedding slab, gate chamber, two control gates, control
house, stilling basin, measuring flume and diversion facilities to Park Creek,
The capacity of the outlet works at full reservoir will be approximately 375
cubic feet per second, with a normal maximum operational requirement of
about 250 cubic feet per second. At maximum operation, there will be ap-
proximately 35 to 40 feet available for excess storage over and above that
required for maximum operation.
Spillway. An uncontrolled spillway 200 feet wide, with a rein-
forced concrete control section for the initial 60 feet of length, will be cut
through the right abutment, approximately 255 feet from the west end of the
dam. The length of the spillway will be about 500 feet and it will spill into a
natural draw well below the dam. The spillway will be designed for a peak
discharge capacity of 8, 100 cubic feet per second at maximum flood stage,
Halligan Dam, The modifications and improvements to Halligan
Dam will consist of two new outlet control valves, two new discharge
pipes and a control building to house the hydraulic components that are re-
quired for operation of the control valves.
Irrigation Structures, No rehabilitation of existing or construction of
new structures or canals is planned under this project.
Construction Cost Estimates, The following is a summary of the es-
timated project costs,
S -6
