There ate two .irrigation systeva in Vie watershed. "ester losses
from these sya r te a a poar 'o be 'Gxtro ely hi6h. Coiisideration
should be given In the developmant or a watershed work plan to the
need for lining of reaches of the canals where wat ©r losses are the
greatest. This w=l.d permit greater water delivery to the farm and
would probably re Ouce the ceeraga pr°obler, on some of the lsmd below
the o;rml.. Land lovelin -, irrigation sycta:: Improvomcnt, and bettor
water manager:ont are also need to increase the efficiency of
irrigation beater use. About 100 acres of land loveling and somo farrm
ditch lining has boon accomplished in the first yoar of district
operations.
The success of one srzIl drainage district indicates that other areas
with a high water table might benefit from drainage. Although canal
lining will probably alUeviate the problem, there are undoubtedly
some areas that will need drainage racasurea. There appesra to be fren
1000 - to 1500 acres of land needing drainage.
Yeacures for recharging underground water basins and for municipal
water supply are not needed.
It is not believed that the types of moasuras now boin; considered
will have any adverse effect on water rights. It is understood that
no filings have been made for the floodwater from this watershed. The
irrigation water for the ir.rigated'farm land in the watershed is
obtained frog the South Platte liver.
5. Effect of .Project Outside the Watershed.
a.
