- 3 - <br />Roatcap Wash Watershed Project (PL 566, Iviontrose County) - This project <br />includes one retardation structure that is caTpleted. Final cost <br />$227,885 (local cost $45,747). The project is sponsored by the <br />Shavano Soil Conservation District and the Unconpahgre Valley <br />Water Users Association. Watershed area is 10,642 acres. <br />Franktcwn.- Parker Tributaries of Cherry Creek Watershed (PL 566, Douglas, <br />:E1 Paso and Elbert Counties) _ This project area. is 176,640 acres. <br />It is sponsored by the Cherry Creek Soil Conservation District, the <br />Boards of County Commissioners of Douglas and El Paso-Counties and <br />the State Soil Conservation Board. Land treatment masures and <br />structural measures provide floodwater and sediment damage reductions <br />to floodplain lands and to state and county road systems. Structures <br />include 16 floodwater- retarding structures and one floodwater diver- <br />sion. The cost of the project was $1,384,034 of which. $904,894 is <br />PL 566 oasts and $479,140 other costs. <br />Indian Wash Watershed Project (PL 566, Mesa County) - Project area is 9,640 <br />acres Floodwater and "sediment damages will be reduced to: flood <br />plain irrigated lands and canals; county, state and federal roads; <br />the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad; and to suburban and urban building <br />and property in Mesa County and the City of Grand Junction. Land <br />treatment measures were installed by the Bureau of Land Management <br />on public lands of the watershed and by owners of the 'private lands. <br />Structural measures consist of one large floodwater-retarding structure. <br />The cost of the project was $532,914 of which the other costs were <br />$112,411. The project is sponsored by the Upper -Grand Valley Soil <br />Conservation District, Mesa County and the City of Grand Junction. <br />Authorized Watershed Projects 'Not Completed (Pu blic Lave 566) <br />✓ Home Supply Watershed Project (Larimer and Weld Counties) - An Agricultural <br />Water Management Project consisting of _ land treatment reasures and <br />structural measures for the rehabilitation of the canal system and <br />a 5,100 acre -foot reservoir for supplemental irrigation storage which <br />has been completed. Estimated project cost is $2,553,248 ($983,248 <br />PL 566 and $1,570,000 local costs). Project area is 43,140-acres. <br />Sponsors.are the Big Thompson Soil Conservation District, the <br />Consolidated Hare Supply Ditch and reservoir Company, the Handy <br />Ditch Conpany and the Colorado State Soil Conservation Board. <br />Louden Watershed Project (Larimer County) - This project consists of land <br />treatment measures and structural measures for rehabilitation of the <br />main canal system and associated lateral systems. Estimated project <br />cost is $461,261 ($336,261 PL 566 and other costs $125,000). Project <br />area is 113,280 acres. The project is sponsored by the Big Thompson <br />and Fort Collins Soil Conservation Districts, the Louden Irrigating <br />Canal and Reservoir Company, the Louden Extension Canal and Reservoir <br />Company, the Big Lateral Ditch Cmipany, and the Colorado State Soil <br />Conservation Board. <br />
