The Ramah dam on the Big Sandy Creek project is a
multipurpose structure. It has 5,000 acre feet of capacity for flood
prevention and 500 acre feet for fish and wildlife. The Federal cost in
constructing flood prevention works of improvement on these projects is
approximately $5,000,000 and the sponsoring organizations together with
farmers and ranchers have contributed in excess of an equivalent amount
toward costs incurred in carrying out the projects.
5. Work plan development is about 70 percent complete on the West Paradox
watershed consisting of 38,000 acres in Montrose County, Colorado and
22,000 acres in San Juan County, Utah. This project involves land
treatment on watershed land and increasing the capacity of the Buckeye
Reservoir in the amount of 2,000 acre feet for irrigation and 400 acre
feet for fish and wildlife.
6.
