.� . • 3 <br />ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION <br />OF <br />THE PARADOX-VALLEY CANAL AND RESERVOIR COMPANY <br />KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTSs <br />That we, the undersigned, residents of the County of Montrose, State <br />of Colorado, being desirous of associating ourselves together for the purpose <br />of forming a corporation under the laws of the State of Colorado for the <br />mutual benefit of the stockholders of said named company only-do hereby make <br />sign, and acknowledge in triplicate this certificate in writing which shall <br />be and constitute the Articles of Incorporation of said Company. <br />1. The name of this Company shall be "The Paradox Valley Canal and <br />Reservoir Company." <br />2. The objects and purposes for which said Company is organised area <br />To purchase, receive title to, hold, own, manage, operate, <br />maintain improve, enlarge and extend that part of the canal <br />and reservoir system heretofore owned by The West End Irrigation <br />Company, a corporation, above that point where water from the <br />outlet of the Buckeye reservoir enters West Paradox Creek and <br />any enlargements or extensions thereof or additions thereto; <br />also to purchase, receive title to, hold, own, enlarge, extend <br />improve, protect and administer those water and water rights which <br />have heretofore been decreed to said ditches and reservoirs as <br />well as to obtain and protect additional decrees. <br />3. That said canal and reservoir system is described as follows: <br />The Deep Creek Feeder Ditch, as now constructed, taking its water <br />from Deep Creek in Grand County in the State of Utah and con- <br />veying it to the Geyser Reservoir, which is located on Geyser <br />Creek in San Juan County, Utah. The Geyser Ditch, as now <br />constructed, taking its water from Geyser Creek and Deep Creek <br />through said Geyser Reservoir in the State of Utah and con- <br />veying said water tap the Buckeye Reservoir in Montrose County <br />Colorado. The Geyser Reservoir above described as now con <br />structed,, which is supplied from Deep Creek and Geyser Creek <br />as aforesaid, <br />The Buckeye Reservoir in Montrose County, Colorado, as now <br />constructed whici is supplied from Deep Creek Agser Creek <br />40 1.. <br />
