Lining about 4.5 miles of the Sangre de Cris to-Trinchova
Diversion Canal. This Diversion has a flood right for 100 c.f.s. 'JI)e
frequency at which this flow has been in excess to prior rights does
not appear to justify lining.
An alternate to the 100 c.f.s. lined canal is a 60 c.f:s.
lined canal. The estimated construction cost for the 60 c.f.s. is
$281,180.
Economic feasibility to reduce seepage loss is que,tj.onable
for either the 100 or 60 c.f.s. lining.
2. The Mountain Home Reservoir approached capacity only once
in 60 years. At that time seepage in the emergency spillway 'section
caused lend slippage in the south abutment below the dam. The Colorado
State Engineer set the maximum height of storage at 96.0, four feet
below the emergency spillway crest.
An estimated construction cost for building a dike across
the emergency spillway and for a concrete chute spillway over the crest
of the dam is $99,000.
Economic feasibility is questionable due to the low
frequency of use for the top four feet of the conservation pool.
L
