Representatives The undersigned, and Larry Mor- <br />rill met with Mr. Crabtree, Project Manager andhis staff in Durango on January 24, 1961 <br />J_ learn what effect the proposed P. L. 566 Project might have on the Dolores Project. <br />The Bureau is now working on the feasibility report for the Dolores Project and expects <br />to have it completed by July ' l . , 1961. In order that there will be a full supply of <br />water for the Project, it will be necessary for the Bureau to obtain from the Montezuma <br />Valley Irrigation Co. an agreement not to exercise their conditional decree for 761.5 <br />cfs of direct diversion from the Dolores River, and an agreement to divert under exist- <br />ing rights only the amount needed to meet the theoretical irrigation requirements. <br />This latter agreement would be similar to the one signed by the water users under the <br />Florida Project. <br />Mr. Crabtree was of the opinion that if the Montezuma Valley Irrigation Co. <br />would cooperate to the extent of signing the above mentioned agreements, the Dolores <br />Project probably would still be feasible with only the Dove Creek lands remaining in <br />the Project. In return for their cooperation, the Montezuma Valley Irrigation-Co, <br />would obtain a dependable water supply with delivery of the water in month ly amounts <br />to meet the theoretical demand. Mr. Crabtree plans to meet with the Directors of the <br />
