i M <br />Task 2: March through April <br />Collect and implant 10 adult Colorado squawfish in the Juniper reach. <br />Task 3: May through July 199_ <br />Monitor hydrograph for spring flow levels characteristic of threshold late summer <br />flow conditions. Assemble field sampling equipment (frame trap nets, trammel <br />nets, fish weir construction materials) and acquire 300 PIT tags and two detection <br />units. <br />Task 4: August through November 199_ <br />Option 1: conduct monitoring of Cross Mountain Canyon and diversion <br />structures for presence and movements of radiotagged squawfish. <br />Option 2: conduct primary PIT tag implantation sampling below Cross Mountain <br />Canyon. Conduct weekly sampling trips in Maybell and Juniper Springs reaches <br />for recapture data and PIT tag additional Colorado squawfish. <br />Task 5: November through December 199_ <br />Prepare preliminary project report on recapture and passage /flow results. <br />Objective 4: January through March 199_ <br />Task 1: January 199_ <br />Assemble ad hoc task group of species experts. <br />Task 2: January through March 199_ <br />Define and assess adverse impacts of structures and natural features from passage <br />impediment to long term trends in the Yampa River squawfish population; <br />incorporate impacts into model parameters, assess results and implications to <br />population management and progress toward recovery objectives that include the <br />Yampa sub - basin. <br />Task 3: March through April 199_ <br />Prepare final report for Objectives 3 and 4. <br />2 <br />
