Town of Breckenridge - Current News and Information <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Back to Minutes List <br />Planning Commission <br />07/09/01 <br />Roll Call <br />Rick Eisenberg called the July 9, 2001, meeting to order at 7:25 p.m. The following members were <br />present at roll call: Rick Eisenberg, Dennis Kuhn, Gene Baker, Jim Lamb, Matt Stais, Turk <br />Montepare and Scott Yule. Staff present included Peter Grosshuesch, Jeff Hunt, Jenn Cram, Kathryn <br />Crawford, Jack Gervais and Heide Andersen. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the June meeting were approved as presented. <br />Approval of Agenda <br />The agenda was approved as presented. <br />Public Comments <br />There were no comments from the public. <br />TRAILS GIS: <br />Kathryn and Jack gave an overview of the trail GIS system they are developing this summer. The <br />information will be used for mapping, planning and maintenance of the trails. <br />WHITEWATER PARK: Heide gave a summary of the comments received from boaters regarding the <br />whitewater park. There are a few features that are more popular than the others and the boaters feel in <br />general that there are some opportunities for refinements. Bob Pfeiffer of the Recreation Department <br />noted that his staff has estimated 5 people per hour are using the park in the afternoon hours. Mostly <br />locals are using the park, although there are some users from around the state. Sundays are the busiest <br />days. Bob reiterated that there would be a significant savings ($50,000) for performing the work on <br />the second phase this year. <br />Chad Gorby was present representing Summit Kayak/Colorado Kayak Supply. He commented that <br />people were coming from far away as Ft. Collins, and that they had received a lot of calls from people <br />interested in the park.
