Noting enforcement difficulties, Councilman Greg Moffet <br />wondered if structural solutions, such as speed bumps in designated <br />neighborhoods, might help address the issue. Town Manager Bob <br />McLaurin agreed to take a look at the possibility. Next steps include <br />returning to Council with a list of existing speed limits as well as propose <br />speed limits for Council review. For more information, contact Public <br />Works/Transportation Director Greg Hall at 479 -2160. <br />- -Ford Park Amphitheater Renovation <br />The Council voted 6 -0 to authorize the Vail Valley Foundation to procee <br />through the development review process for an expansion /renovation of <br />the Ford Park Amphitheater. The $7 million privately- funded proposal <br />includes replacement and expansion of the theater roof, an addition to t <br />stage left and stage right buildings, construction of a new beverage <br />service building and the upgrading of the east and west gate entrances. <br />The Vail Valley Foundation leases the ground on which the amphitheate <br />is constructed from the Town of Vail. If the Foundation is successful with <br />its private fund - raising campaign, and the project meets town board <br />approvals, construction could begin this September with completion in <br />June 2001. For more information, contact George Ruther in the <br />Community Development Department at 479 -2145. <br />- -Berry Creek 5th Filing Request for Proposal for Employee Housin <br />The Council reviewed and approved a request for proposal (RFP) <br />document to be issued jointly by the Town and Eagle County for <br />development of a 16 -acre housing site at the Berry Creek Fifth property i <br />Eagle. The document now goes before the Eagle County Commissioner <br />for final approval. The goal is to have responses back from developers b <br />May 23.
