Next steps include
returning to the Town Council with a recommended timetable. For more
information, contact Nina Timm in the Community Development
Department at 479 -2144.
-- DRB /PEC Report
During an update of the most recent meeting of the Planning and
Environmental Commission, the Council inquired about the status of the
town's application for a conditional use permit to allow for construction o
an athletic field near Red Sandstone School; received an update on
approval of an application by the Marriott Mountain Resort for a
conditional use permit for a seasonal structure (tent); and reviewed an
application process to formalize easements granted by the town to the V
Interfaith Chapel in 1998 as part of the chapel's expansion project. For
additional details, contact Brent Wilson in the Community Development
Department at 479 -2140.
-- Update of 208 Plan
The Council heard from Robert Ray of the Northwest Colorado Council
Government's Watershed Policy Program. Ray encouraged the town to
become involved in a process to update the Regional Water Quality
Management Plan which will be taking place over the next year. The pla
is mandated by the Clean Water Act. During discussion, Councilman
Chuck Ogilby inquired about a study of Black Gore Creek. He also
inquired about standards for expansion of Vail's wastewater treatment
facilities.
-- Review of Council Contribution Request Criteria
Next, the Council reaffirmed its contribution criteria, marking the beginni
of the 2002 budget process. The Council will use criteria established last
year in determining funding allocations requested by agencies and non-
profits. Evaluations will be based on a proposal's "direct benefit to the
entire community of Vail, fulfillment of the town's mission, and how this
contribution will affect our resort community's future health." Application
for 2002 funding will be due in August.
IMP
- -Bid for 2003 World Kayak Championships
http: / /www.ei.vail.co.us /town council /highlights /archive /2001 /010612.htm 01/30/2002
