Town of Vail - Town Council - Town Council Highlights - Archive - October 2, 2001 Page 6 of 10 <br />-- Approval of Marks Development Corporation Agreement <br />The Council voted 7 -0 to approve an agreement with the owner of the <br />Timber Ridge property providing for continued use of the 198 -unit compl <br />as employee housing until June 1, 2002. Deed restrictions on the proper <br />expire Nov. 30, 2001. As such, the Town Council was attempting to <br />rezone the property to preserve the units as employee housing. Howeve <br />objections were raised by the owner, who challenged the legality of the <br />rezoning. The "stand- still" agreement enables the town to resume <br />negotiations with the owner for redevelopment of the property as <br />employee housing. However, if those negotiations are unsuccessful, the <br />document acknowledges the town's interest in proceeding with the <br />rezoning process once the agreement expires. For additional details, <br />contact Town Manager Bob McLaurin at 479 -2105. <br />A <br />w <br />-- Appointment of Election Judges for Nov. 6 Regular Municipal <br />Election <br />The Council voted 7 -0 to appoint three election judges, an alternate and <br />junior election judge for the regular municipal election on Nov. 6. Vail's <br />election will take place at the polls, while the Eagle County coordinated <br />election will be a mail ballot. For additional details, contact Vail Town Cl <br />Lorelei Donaldson at 479 -2136. <br />-- Amendment to the Official Zoning Map, re; Open Space Parcels <br />The Council voted 7 -0 on second reading to approve an amendment to <br />the official Town of Vail zoning map to rezone property acquired by the <br />Town of Vail. The rezoning of Vail Meadows Filing 2 and the Bighorn <br />Second Addition subdivisions from Agriculture Open Space to Natural <br />Area Preservation District will prepare the parcels for potential future <br />designations as perpetual open space. This is one of the few remaining <br />actions left to complete from the 1994 Comprehensive Open Lands Plan <br />For additional details, contact Brent Wilson in the Community <br />Development Department at 479 -2140. <br />I ��I <br />n <br />-- Amendment to the Official Zoning Map, re: Mountain Bell Site <br />The Council voted 6 -1 (Donovan against) to approve first reading of an <br />ordinance to rezone 6.7 acres of the 25 -acre Mountain Bell site (now <br />called Middle Creek Subdivision) from Natural Area Preservation District <br />to the Housing Zone District.
