Bosley Wash collects the
surface runoff from a geological structure named Mt. Garfield. The surface flows across BLM and
private property within the drainage basin.
There are two local governmental agencies capable of assisting the property owners, but lack the
necessary funds to either engineer or implement a basin study to be followed up with some actual
construction project to mitigate the negative impacts of the natural courses of the area: I am
recommending that Mesa County and the Grand Junction Drainage District seek some grant funding
through your offices to conduct a study that will enable them to jointly pursue the ways and means
to prevent reoccurring damages from these types of storm events in this area.
Y '
re tserry
State Representative
District 55
cc: Mesa County Commissioners
P.O.
