Department of Natural Resources <br />SERVICES REQUIRING REVIEW <br />A1 — Professional Technical Category <br />■ Consulting <br />January 1, 2006 <br />Some examples of consulting services are: feasibility studies, management <br />reviews, environmental and habitat assessments, professional geologic <br />consultants, ITS consultants, software programmers, biological surveys, experts <br />in natural areas, trail planning. <br />■ Training <br />These services are used to train staff in various skills. For on-site training in <br />areas that are not highly specialized or technical such as GIS or engineering, <br />program staff should contact the Training Unit within the Department of <br />Personnel to see if they are able to provide the training. <br />A2 — Non-Professional/Support Category <br />■ Custodial Services <br />This category includes all custodial services. <br />■ Temporary Services <br />These services include covering work overflow, short-term special projects and <br />employee absences including sick and vacation leave and to cover essential <br />positions during the hiring process. <br />A3 — Purchased Services <br />■ Environmental Education <br />This category includes environmental education for the public. <br />A6 — Exempt (Attorneys, Professors) <br />■ Attorneys <br />The Department's contracts with attorneys when requested by the Attorney <br />General's Office to accomplish work that the AGO is not able to complete for us. <br />The Department also pays the Colorado representative to the Upper Colorado <br />Commission, who is an attorney appointed by the Governor. <br />
