MR. D. MILLER: <br />MR. BARKLEY: <br />MR. GILDERSLEEVE: <br />"I move we recess for lunch." <br />"Unitl 1 :30? We'll recess then until 1:30." <br />The meeting reconvened at 1:45 P. M. and was called to order <br />by the Chairman. <br />MR. GILDERSLEEVE: "When we recessed for lunch there seemed to be <br />a little confusion among the representatives of the <br />Bureau of Reclamation as to what line they should <br />follow as the next step in their studies. I am <br />wondering whether any of the members of the steer- <br />ing committee has any concrete suggestions at this <br />time as to how the Bureau should be advised as to <br />the wishes of the steering committee." <br />MR. BARKLEY: "Mr. Chairman." <br />MR. GILDERSLEEVE: "Mr. Barkley." <br />MR. BARKLEY.- "I think I probably ought to make a comment or <br />two in advance since I stated this morning that I <br />couldn't see how we could proceed on this main <br />stream without getting into tributary considerations <br />at some later time and I agree with Mr. Knights <br />that this gets very complex if you go on and on. <br />You have to stop some where. At the same time I <br />think the real question involved here, in the dis- <br />cussion by principally the people that are down- <br />stream, who might be the potential beneficiaries <br />below any channel reservoir on the Platte, as well <br />as some of the irrigation systems upstream, have <br />one particular, primary question in mind that it <br />seems should be answered. Therefore I suggest in <br />a relatively simple motion or resolution that the <br />steering committee request the Bureau to furnish a <br />"Mr. Chairman, I'd li k <br />.
