SOUTH PLATTE STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING
Rm. 11, State Services Building
Denver 3, Colorado
October 6, 1961
The meeting was called to order at 10:10 A. M. by Mr. Ben-
jamin F. Stapleton, Jr., Vice - Chairman of the Colorado Water Con-
servation Board.
MR. STAPLETON: "Gentlemen, as you all know, Larry Sparks is
now officially on military duty and it is my
recollection that Larry was Chairman of this
steering committee and if there are no objections
from any of you, I'd lake to see if Mr. Gilder-
sleeve can't continue as acting chairman until
Larry comes back from military service and con-
tinues the liaison. STAPLETON: "Maybe somebody can give us a review of those
minutes just to bring some of us who weren't there
up to date."
MR. GILDERSLEEVE: "Can you do that from your notes, Stan ?"
MR. STAPLETON: "Just a summary, I think, just so we'll have
some idea."
MR.. S. MILLER: "The minutes I have here weren't prepared for
reading. The Bureau of Reclamation programmed
federal funds in the amount of $250,000 to
$300,000 for the South Platte studies. That
doesn't include your state funds. Mr. Sparks
presented a background description of the Narrows
studies and work to date. He was followed by Jim
Ogilvie who said they were assured by the Corps
