Also, it was desired that a copy of the opinion of the
Solicitor of the Department of Interior, rendered several years ago,
respecting use within a compact State of water imported from another
basin, be obtained. The Director said he had obtained a copy of this
opinion and Mr. Breitenstein had written a preliminary draft of such
opinion, which he and Mr. Breitenstein wished to discuss before it is
made available for use in consideration of the Board of the Narrows
matter.
Director Stone's death occurred October 22, 1952
May 18, 1953
Director Crawford reported that he had informed inquiring
parties that the matter of Narrows dam is in a state of quiescence.
The Sterling Chamber of Commerce wants the matter re- opened, and
he asked an opinion from the Board as to whether there should be any
action taken on the basis of the meetings. It appeared to be the
feeling of members of the Board that there would be no purpose in
attempting to do anything at the time, in view of the current economy
drive.
