UPPER GUNNISON RIVER WATER CONSERVANCY DISTRICT <br />REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES <br />January 28, 2002 <br />The Board of Directors of the Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy <br />District conducted a regularly scheduled meeting on January 28, 2002 at <br />5:30 p.m. at the Gunnison County Fairgrounds, Gunnison, Colorado. <br />Board members present were Don Cardin, Jim Cochran, Bob Drexel, <br />Steve Glazer, Diane Lothamer, Greg Peterson, Ken Spann, Dennis <br />Steckel, Bill Trampe, and Ruth "Scottie" Willey. Board member not <br />present was Bob Irby. <br />Others present were: <br />Butch Clark <br />Cindy Covell, Alperstein & Covell <br />Kathleen Curry, Manager <br />John McClow, Board attorney <br />Jon Rasmussen, Gunnison Country Times <br />Steve Schechter <br />Mark Schumacher <br />Pete Sharp, Crested Butte News <br />Jim Slattery, Helton & Williamsen <br />Jill Steele, Secretary/ bookkeeper <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Board President Greg Peterson called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. <br />2. EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />Board attorney John McClow recommended that the board discuss in <br />executive session matters relating to the District's proposed recreational <br />in- channel diversion and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison water right <br />litigation, and that this discussion qualifies as attorney- client privileged <br />communication pursuant to X24- 6- 402(4)(b) and X24- 6- 402(4)(e), C.R.S. <br />Dennis Steckel moved and Bob Drexel seconded to adjourn into <br />executive session to discuss matters relating to the District's <br />
