.

-2-

water in about one and one quarter (I \4) foot of storage above elevation 5,432 feet at Chatfield
Reservoir. Even if Denver is allowed to reduce the fish flows and it receives permission to store
water to an elevation of 5,433.25 in Chatfield Reservoir, some water will be lost to Denver's
customers. However, eveI)' little bit saved during this drought would help.

All parties, including the Colorado Pmks and Outdoor Recreation Division, Denver, and the
Water Conservation Bomd are working together to assure that impacts to recreation and
recreation amenities at Chatfield Reservoir will be minimi7ed if the Corps approves this
emergency use of one and one quarter foot of storage at Chatfield Reservoir for up to six months.
Denver is losing water every day this issue goes unresolved. Hopefully, the Corps will
appreciate the urgency of this request and quickly approve Denver's use of an additional one and
one quarter foot of Chatfield Reservoir storage above elevation 5,432 feet.
