The City of Craig owns the existing reservoir. The River District and the. City of Craig entered info an Intergovernmental Agreement (1GA) effective February 1, 2002, concerning the enlargement of Elkhead Creek Reservoir, The IGA contemplates that the River District would prosecute and obtain the appropriate water rights for the reservoir enlargement project. The enlargement project Will increase the s?orage capacity of the existing reservoir by 13,000 acre feet for a total capacity of 26,800 acre feet. This Application does not concern the water rights presently decreed for storage at the existing Elkhead Creek Reservoir. Those existing water storage rights may continue to be exercised as decreed, subject to any agreements binding upon the exercise of those rights and the operation of Elkhead Creek Reservoir. B. Conditional Water Storage Right: 1. Name of the Structure: The structure is Ellchead Creek Reservoir Enlargement (second). 2. i_.egal Description of Conditional Water Storage Right: The dam will be located approximately where the South quarter of Section 16, Town.ehip 7 North, ?an ex. R4 Wect of the 6 P.M. hems South 34 °47'13" East 869.37 feet.. A point on the dam is located 370 feet North of the South line and 1637 feet East of the West line of said Section 1.6. 3. Source: The source is Elkhead Creek and its tributaries; tributary to the Yampa River. 4.
