CWCB Construction Fund Loan Application
4. Pease provide a brief narrative description of the proposed project including purpose, need,
facilities, type of water uses to be served and service area. Attach separate sheet, if needed.
The Riverside Ditch has not received much real repair and little improvement in recent decades. The
ComanX did construct two siphons the cost of which was funded bX shareholder assessments usine a
CWCB loan. Those improvements are in effect the first steps of phased canal moderniza.tion and
repairs to ame infrastructure.
Of particular concern at the present is the river diversion. The Companv has been unable to take their
full decreed flow because of the flow back to the river throuh the wing wall that directs water toward
the river diversion head gate. The Company has been considering a number of phased improvements to
the canal which can be characterized as:
■ Repairs to the river diversion.
■ Lininof portions of the canal.
■ Consideration of canal monitoring (and potentiallv future gate actuation using supervisory
control and data acquisition1SCADA) equitment.
■ Phreatophvte removal and TUrilri
■ Installation removal, or repair of selected head gates and includin a standardized downstream
flume.
These considered improvements, as ronosed herein, would have the overall eect and benefit to the
RD&AEC shareholders throuh:
• Improving overall canal operations and operational efficiencv.
■ Increasing consistency of shareholder headate deliveries.
■ Irnplementation of standardized companv-wide, wheeled headgates with standardized flumes
downstream.
■ Decreasinoperationalliabilities.
■ Reducin unnecessary onerational spills.
6. Will the acquisition of additional water rights be necessar? YES NO X
7.
