SUBJECT: Water Efficiency Grant Fund Recommendation for the City of Durango
Summary of Grant Application
The Office of Water Conservation & Drought Planning ( OWCDP) received a Water Efficiency
Grant Fund application from the City of Durango, a covered entity located in La Plata County.
The City of Durango is requesting $17,710 to develop a water conservation plan that will comply
with §37 -60 -126 C.R.S. and build on previous water conservation planning efforts.
The City of Durango is located in water division 7 where SWSI identified a 22,300 acre -feet gap
in future water supplies. Water conservation will be vital in helping the City of Durango
maintain its reliable water supply at a reasonable cost.
The City has pledged 30% matching funds in the form of cash and in -kind services. OWCDP
staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined that the proposal
meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals. Attached is the internal
checklist used to evaluate the application.
Recommendation
The OWCDP staff recommends that Jennifer Gimbel, Director of the CWCB, authorize a Water
Efficiency Grant in the of $17,710 for the City of Durango to develop a water conservation plan
in accordance with §37 -60 -126 C.R.S.
