The amount of precipitation <br />falling within each drainage area thus delineated was then calculated using ESRI's <br />ArcMap Spatial Analyst Raster Calculator applied to 30-year (1971-2000) normal annual <br />precipitation grid data published in 2006 by the Oregon State University PRISM Group, a <br />USDA NRCS National Water and Climate Center partner. The drainage areas and <br />average annual precipitation data are depicted below. Once the drainage area annual <br />precipitation volumes were obtained it was possible to calculate the fraction of incident <br />precipitation discharged by each of the gaged watersheds on average during the 30-year <br />period using the precipitation volumes and USGS discharge data consistent with the <br />period, shows 46% for Beaver Creek and 69% for Cross Creek.
