Reconstruction of the Raymond Ditch #545 <br />Introduction <br />The Raymond Ditch Adjudication #545 is located on the Northern portion of land owned by <br />Robert and Helen Raymond to which they lease to Raymond Dairy, Inc. This ditch was <br />adjudicated in 1947 for the purpose of irrigating ground to provide crops for the existing dairy. <br />Today that dairy is owned and operated by Raymond Dairy, Inc. which milks 400+ dairy cows <br />on a daily basis. Raymond Dairy has been in operation since 1945 and has been owned and <br />operated by the Raymond family for more than four generations. The Raymond Ditch is still <br />used and the irrigation water it carries is vital for approximately 125 acres of field crops <br />(primarily alfalfa and corn silage) for this dairy cattle. Approximately 2,400 feet of the ditch is <br />to be replaced with currently carries 3.5 cubic feet per second. The legal recorded adjudication <br />document can be found in Appendix A. <br />Project 5ponsor <br />Raymond Dairy, Inc. is an S. Corporation registered with the State of Colorado. The revenues <br />generated from this corporation will be used for loan repayment. The corporation carries very ^ <br />little debt and is a very sound financial position. The Natural Resources Conservation Service <br />(NRCS) has approved a grant in the amount of $32,000 towards this project. This is will cover <br />approximately 30 percent of the total projected cost. Raymond Dairy, Inc.
