No fish were
detected in the vicinity of the spawning bar after
water temperature exceeded 17°C and flows ex-
ceeded 294 m3/s. Peak discharge at the Jensen,
Utah gauge occurred 7 d later (1 June) at 479 m3/
S. Water temperature associated with peak dis-
charge was 17°C.
Time spent in the vicinity of the spawning bar
by radio-tagged fish was equally divided between
diurnal and nocturnal hours (Figure 3). During
four diel monitoring efforts, four individual fish
were monitored in the spawning area. During the
16-17 May and 18-19 May surveys, transmitter
codes 39, 40, 36, and 33 were located near the
spawning area (Figure 4). Fish 33, the only female
implanted with a transmitter, was first located near
the spawning bar on 15 May (implanted 10 d pre-
viously). During diel monitoring, fish 33 was not
located on the spawning bar between 2330 (18
May) and 0250 hours (19 May).
