We have obtained Floy tagging guns and plan to use them for the tagging of
all adult non-endangered fishes. In 1979 field crews noted problems
with recapturing fishes at?intensive stations. We believe that the
ability to identify previously captured and released fishes will provide
considerable insight into all fish behavior and population numbers.
In 1979, we experienced mortality of adult Colorado squawfish captured
in trammel nets. In 1980, field crews will check all trammel and gill
nets at hourly intervals to reduce mortality to squawfish.
