• TAPE8 - TAPE8 output from PHABSIM for the study site
and species you have selected (this is optional
as WUA vs. Q may be input directly in this
procedure.)
CAUTION: You must have the TAPE8 file local (get it if needed) before
executing this procedure.
RTIN executes the HABTIN program that creates the input file for
the habitat time series generation program HART. If the habitat (WUA)
vs. flow relationship for the species of interest is on a TAPE8 as
produced by PHABSIM the user may use that information automatically by
including the file name of the TAPE8 in the procedure command. If a
TAPE8 is not available, the WUA vs. flow information may be entered
directly from the terminal. Use of RTIN and RHABTS is the starting point
in any analysis of habitat time series using this set of programs.
Notes: 1) Each file generated by RTIN is good for one life stage
only. 2) The user must ensure that the flow range in the WUA vs.
flow function is larger than the range of values in the flow time series.
If in doubt, run the flow time series data through the procedure RHSSTS
to set summary statistics including max and min flows. It may be neces-
sary to directly enter the WUA vs. Q data if TAPE8 does not cover the
desired range.
RHABTS
• -RHABTS,PCOL,HAB,FLW,NWHAB.
Where: HAB - file produced by RTIN
FLW - flow time series file for the study site
NWHAB - habitat time series for one live stage at that
site
All of these files may be substituted.
CAUTION: File FLW must be in Northwest Data Center Format (see RNWDC
and RCNVRT below) and the units must be in cfs (see RUNITS
below).
RHABTS executes the HABT program that generates a habitat time
series. File HAB (i.e., the user's substituted file name) from RTIN and
a flow time series (file FLW) must be supplied. If these files are not
local, the procedure will attempt to GET files of those names (the user's
substitution file names.) The output file will contain a habitat value
for each month of the year for all years in the time series. Procedure
RMLSTS (see below) may be used to select the months each life stage is
important or to merge several life stages into one time series.
Note: The habitat time series will cover the same period of record
as the flow time series input in file FLW. The user should extend
or reduce the length of FLW to match the period of the analysis.
•
41
