C.
IMPACTS
1. Impacts from Proposed Development

(a) Floodplain--No impacts to the floodplain are
anticipated for Phase 1.
(b) Wetlands--Short-term impacts to wetlands will be
monitored as water levels are manipulated during
Phase 1. No long term impacts to wetland
functions and values are anticipated.
(c) T & E Species--No impacts to bald eagle or
peregrine falcon are anticipated during Phase 1.
(d) Prime and Unique Farmland--No prime and unique
farmland is present within the Preserve.
D.
BUDGET
1. Estimated Costs
E. SCHEDULE
Phase one activities are scheduled to begin in 1994.
• Develop water rights. This is a priority. Water must
be developed to prove use by February 1995. Drilling
and installing a pumping facility should begin as soon
as possible.
• Refurbish water outlet. This is second priority but
should also be done as soon as possible.
Investigate and design modifications to the north pond
for development of a fish rearing facility.
Characterize fish populations of the wetlands.
• Monitor wetland habitat conditions. This should be
part of an on-going monitoring study of the Preserve.
In 1995, modify north pond and continue to monitor wetland
conditions. Initiate life history experiments in controlled
environments in the Preserve.
In 1996, add juvenile razorback suckers to the north ponds for
rearing and begin collecting data on fish. Continue to monitor
wetland conditions. Initiate Phase two experimental approach
based on availability of suitable sized razorback suckers.
31

11

1
