Figure 3 presents <br />the assigned recovery priority num- <br />bers by taxonomic group. Sixty-one <br />percent of the species are assigned <br />high recovery priority numbers, sig- <br />nifying an imminence of extinction <br />for nearly two-thirds of the listed <br />species. Approximately 35% are as- <br />signed moderate recovery priority <br />numbers and 4% are assigned low <br />numbers. High priorities are assigned <br />across all taxonomic groups with no <br />bias towards any taxonomic group. <br />An additional designation "C" is ap- <br />pended to those species recovery pri- <br />ority numbers where a known threat <br />or "conflict' exists. Figure 4 provides <br />a graphic representation of the num- <br />ber of species where conflict with ac- <br />tions other than the species recovery <br />exist. Approximately 25% of listed <br />species have possible conflicts with <br />development projects or other forms <br />of economic activity. The majority of <br />listed species are not in conflict with <br />other activities. Where conflicts are <br />identified, priority in resource alloca- <br />tion is applied to conflict resolution. <br />Table 3 outlines the taxonomic distri- <br />bution of species with and without <br />approved recovery plans. <br />13
