PWRS30NNEL:
The identification was done by myself under the super
vision of Ur. R. Behnke. Samples were taken by Mr. Mee Sealing
and Mr. Ge->rge Kidd, Grand junction Office of the Colorado D.Lvi-
sion of Wildlife. Photographs were taken by Charles Prewitt
(graduate student in Fishery Biology at Colorado State University).
METHODS AND LyqUIPMENT:
Measurements and counts were made according to Hubbs and
Lagl.er, 1958- Results were compared to tables compiled by Holden
and Stalnaker (3:411 Body measurements, except for eye diameter,
are expressed in thousandths of standard length and are computed
by dividing the standard length in millimeters into the particular
body measurements in mi,llemeters. Equipment included: viewing
scope, caliper, and meterstick.
DEFINITIONS:
1. Intergrades: Fish with intermediate or transitional
morphology meaning they may or may not be hybrids.
However, at this stage in evolutionary time, I assume the
G. cypha intergrades to be hybrids. One must also take
into consideration possible intraspecific variability;
extent of this is not known because of small numbers of
specimens taken.
