<br />MEETINGS OF THE COMMISSION <br /> <br />During the water year ending September 30, 1987, the Com- <br />mission met five times as follows: <br />Meeting No. 195 November 14, 1986 <br /> <br />Meeting No. 196 <br /> <br />March 16, 1987 <br /> <br />Meeting No. 197 <br /> <br />March 24, 1987 <br /> <br />Meeting No. 198 <br /> <br />June 2, 1987 <br /> <br />Meeting No. 199 <br /> <br />September 21, 1987 <br /> <br />Adjourned Annual <br />Meeting <br />Salt Lake City, Utah <br />Regular Meeting <br />Salt Lake City, Utah <br />Adjourned Regular <br />Meeting <br />Albuquerque, <br />New Mexico <br />Special Meeting <br />Denver, Colorado <br />Annual Meeting <br />Salt Lake City, Utah <br /> <br />ACTIVITIES OF THE COMMISSION <br /> <br />Within the scope and limitations of Article I(a) of the Upper <br />Colorado River Basin Compact, ". . . to secure the expeditious <br />agricultural and industrial development of the Upper Basin, the <br />storage of water . . ," and under the powers conferred upon the <br />Commission by Article VIII(d) pertaining to making studies of <br />water supplies of the Colorado River and its tributaries and the <br />power to ". . . do all things necessary, proper or convenient in <br />the performance of its duties . , ., either independently or in <br />cooperation with any state or federal agency," the principal <br />activities of the Commission during the 1987 water year have <br />consisted of: (A) research and studies of an engineering and <br />hydrologic nature of various facets of the water resources of the <br />Colorado River Basin especially as related to operation of the <br />Colorado River reservoirs and salinity control; (B) collection and <br />compilation of documents for a legal library relating to the utili- <br />zation of waters of the Colorado River System for domestic, <br />industrial and agricultural purposes, and the generation of hydro- <br />electric power; (C) legal analyses of associated laws, court deci- <br />sions, reports and problems; (D) analyses of environmental state- <br />ments on water development projects of the Colorado River <br />Storage Project and participating projects; (E) continuation of a <br />general public relations program related to water resources of the <br />Upper Colorado River Basin; (F) cooperation with water quality <br /> <br />l <br /> <br />7 <br />
