,Applicatiou for Water Rights of the Eagle River Water& Sanitation District
March 5, 2002
Alan C. Martellaro, P.E.
Page 27
Q. Okay. Is it -- is it passing
through the course structures in a different
manner?
A. Yes.
Q. And at what -- what's the
difference?
A. The flow may be deflected in
different directions than it was prior to
construction of the course.
Q. You say it may be. Is there any
question in your mind that there is?
A. No. No, it is. And there's also,
you know -- well, it's a-- they're similar to
drop structures, so they create waves and things
of that nature.
Q. When you say, "similar to drop
structures," what do you mean by drop
structures?
A. A drop structure is something that's
used to prevent erosion, to prevent the stream
channel from moving. It keeps the flow in one
place or -- well, they're just something that's
been used in recent times to discourage another
method of protecting the stream, which would be
an annual rebuilding of the stream channel.
Esquire Deposition Services (303) 316-0330
