The biological soundness of the <br />report will help insure actions to restore this interesting species <br />to a point in time that it can once again play its role in the <br />Colorado River system and be available for many uses on a sustained <br />yield basis. <br /> , <br />We would like to request some administrative additions which could <br />facilitate the role of the Forest Service in these efforts in Region 3 <br />(Arizona and New Mexico). <br />Please list the USFS under the "Agency" column on the charts starting <br />on page 26, and use the estimated costs shown: <br />Task Agency 77 78• 79 80 81 <br />111. USFS 5,000 <br />231 USFS 5,000 , <br />Some of these tasks, such as the habitat requirement studies, may be <br />done by the Rocky Mountain Forest and Range Experiment Station, <br />Forestry Sciences Laboratory, Tempe, Arizona. Dr. David R. Patton <br />is directing a project titled "Habitat Criteria Development for <br />Southwestern Wildlife," which focuses on the riparian ecosystem <br />and those endangered species dependent upon the ecosystem. Species <br />included are the threatened Apache trout, endangered Gila trout, <br />Squawfish, woundfin, Gila topminnow, Southern bald eagle, American <br />peregrine falcon, and the Yuma clapper rail.
