Corps personnel from the Headquarters (Washington, D.C.), <br />Division (Portland, Oregon), and District (Omaha, Nebraska) offices participated to discuss high level <br />policy issues as well as more specific tasks needing attention prior to public release of a draft feasibility <br />report and environmental impact statement (FR/EIS). The CWCB and a cadre of water providers and <br />other study team members attended as well to observe the meetin g and to provide technical support as <br />necessary. The Corps received two letters from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regarding <br />comments on the preliminary FR/EIS, which precipitated the need for the two federal agencies to discuss <br />and resolve seve ral important issues raised in the letters. In related news, several study team member from <br />Colorado visited with Congressional Delegation members and staff from Corps Headquarters in <br />th <br />Washington, D.C. on June 25 to discuss appropriations, study status, and next steps. (Tom Browning) <br />PLATTE RIVER RECOVERY IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM - <br />The Platte River <br />Recovery Implementation Program (“Program”) held its last Governance Committee meeting in <br />Cheyenne, Wyoming, on June 2 - 3, 2009. The next meeting will be held in Denver, Colorado on August <br />11 - 12, 2009. There are a number of water matters that the Staff will discuss with the Board at the <br />upcoming Board meeting.
