During the irrigation season, outflows from Lake McConaughy, for all purposes, were 94 percent <br />of projected; inflows were about 24% of normal and 25% of projected. Due to below normal <br />availability of natural flow, NPPD entered into an amendment to the 1954 Contract with <br />CNPPID to provide for additional releases of storage water to meet their irrigation demands. <br />Surface deliveries to irrigation customers on the North Platte River upstream of McConaughy <br />were also well below average with many canals being administered to provide natural flows to <br />senior canals downstream. Lack of precipitation in the region and "borrowing" from next year's <br />water supply may result in less than a full supply for irrigators in Nebraska panhandle in 2003. <br />EA Volume <br />Actual accumulations and total EA volume during the 2002 water year were as follows: <br />Table 1.
