• Substitute Supply Plan - Counsel Lawrence revised the new Special Class "D" <br />Contract and filed a request for re-approval of the substitute supply plan. <br />• Opposition to Jensen, 00-CW-015 - Counsel Lawrence prepared a letter to the <br />Referee concerning settlement. <br />• Opposition to Schauerman, 00-CW-004 - Counsel Lawrence prepared a letter to <br />the Referee concerning settlement. <br />PRESIDENT'S REPORT: <br />Directar Treadwav made the motion to oprove the following Resolution: <br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Lower South Platte Water Conservancy District, <br />WHEREAS, the services provided by the District, including well augmentation, <br />water conservation, water education are essential to the constituents of the District; <br />WHEREAS, the effect of Amendment 21, known as Tax Cut 2000, would be to <br />reduce the District's budget approximately 50% the first year and eliminate the District's budget <br />and all services provided within three years; <br />NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Directors hereby resolves that Amendment 21 is <br />not in the best interests of the constituents of the District, that the Board opposes Amendment 21 <br />and urges all constituents to voie against Amendment 21. <br />Director Crandall seconded the motion. Motionpassed. Director Aranci abstained. <br />MANAGER' S REPORT: <br />Included in Manager Schott's report were the following: <br />• Director Fender made the motion that the District pav the insurance premium <br />of approximately $108.00 to Hix Insurance for insurance coveraggon the <br />ig ddings rig. Director Edwards seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br />The South Platte Lower River Group, Inc. will reimburse the District for this cost. <br />• Manager Schott also noted that because of the cost savings in premiums as well as <br />better coverage, the District will also change its auto insurance policies to Hix <br />Insurance. <br />• Monica Martens a graduate student at Colorado State University will be sending a <br />copy of a summary of her thesis for the Board to review at next month's meeting. <br />• Manager Schott will present at next month's Board meeting an outline of an <br />approximate tazget date for additional water projects. <br />-3-
