This is not likely to be a relevant link for the
Flood DSS unless the State wishes to have the remote desktop functionality. However, the FX-
Net software is a real-time system for displaying and integrating hydrometeorological data
(http://fxc.noaa.gov/). Its primary data source is the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing
System (AWIPS) database, although it also integrates data from web servers and other data
sources. FX-Net is a PC software program that provides user access to AWIPS data (e.g., model
runs, soil moisture, forecasts, precipitation, satellite, radar, remote sensing data) without
requiring the full AWIPS system. The State of Colorado has investigated using FX-Net for
establishing forest fire danger levels and deciding whether or not to perform cloud seeding
operations. During the data inventory, Riverside will evaluate in conjunction with the State of
C

n
0

i

C
DNR RFP PDA-923 38 R I V E R S I D E
