RECITALS
The Governance Committee of the Platte River Recovery Implementation Program (Program)
submits this Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit proposals from contractors to design and
implement a study of the foraging habitats of interior least terns (Sternula antillarum) and piping
plovers (Charadrius melodus) nesting on sandpits and river habitat along the central Platte River
from Lexington to Chapman, Nebraska. The study will be conducted for the Governance
Committee and will be supervised by the Program Executive Director's Office (ED Office). The
study must address the following objectives:
• Determine fora.ging locations for least terns and piping plovers in relation to nest sites.
• Determine if chick survival is affected by adult foraging time, distance to foraging site,
and/or feeding efficiency.
?Develop time-activity budgets (energetics) for nesting least terns and piping plovers.
In responding to this RFP, the Governance Committee requests a study proposal that includes:
1) Scope of work for completing this project. Prospective contractors should provide a detailed
outline of the type of work to be performed (data collection methods, analyses, reporting) to
address the tasks identified in the Scope of Work for Contract Services for this RFP.
2) List of relevant project experience within the past five years, including name, location, and
brief description of the projects; name, address, and phone number of the contracting officer
for the client; and identification of key project participants and their tasks.
3) Resumes of all primary investigators and level of student involvement (if any). Provide a
ta.ble showing the tasks, responsibilities, and the number of hours each key participant is
committing to this project.
